Introduction

Our management team strongly believes that it is a good challenge for our institution to promote and to participate in the organisation of European mobility projects. We think that an organised mobility experience as a part of our curriculum is a valuable opportunity to help developing the competences of the students.

The possibility of sharing experiences with people from other countries is also a source of motivation for both teachers and students, having a positive effect on the school.

If you are interested in participating in a project with us, please let us know by sending an e-mail to edn@edn.cat. We would be pleased to give you some more details and the course curriculum if needed.

Purpose
  • To encourage our students to do their internship abroad, in companies in the EU which will allow them to face a different educational program that will improve their linguistic competence and professional skills, and promote technical and cultural relationships between different cultures and countries.
  • The mobility training students will encourage the creation of better qualified professional people in the future because the students will have the chance to better understand the needs of other labour markets in Europe and acquire the skills needed to adapt to new contexts and improve understanding of the economic and social environments.
  • Encourage the exchange of expert knowledge between our school and the business sector and European institutions, in order to strengthen a European vision of our education system .We will show other countries the educational processes and our techniques while sharing common projects.
  • It is also our desire to establish alliances with international cooperation to promote innovation and entrepreneurship and create strategies and synergies with partner institutions and companies to promote cross cooperation.

We encourage our students’ motivation to perform vocational training. This challenge makes this educational stage become more attractive, modern and high quality while helping to regenerate the economy of the region and generate a positive impact on the environment.

ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT (OverallStrategy)

EDN de Navàs is a reference center in Bages district, pioneer and leader in professional training. There are about 300 students in medium Professional Studies ( 16-18 or older ) and High professional studies ( older than 18) at the moment. We are running an Erasmus KA2 project this school year for the first time because we consider that Language communicative competence is essential nowadays inside and outside the school center. This is why our pedagogical line in the school wants to expand the priority in foreign languages such as English, French or German. We Encourage internationalization and modernization of our institution through various plans and activities:

Participating in KA2 in our Secondary school levels.

2nd year participating in “People to people” program for pupils aged 12-18. Families host pupils from the USA.

The school also participates in the programme “Home to Home” . Pupils stay from 5 to 8 days in Ireland or Great Britain.

Promotion of studies abroad through educational scholarships for high school students.

Extracurricular lessons to promote the knowledge of English and German languages.

Teacher training for school staff, just to obtain International degrees.

Students have the chance to do the official tests prepared at school, such as KET, PET, FIRST.

The school center wants to go one step further by applying ECHE just to show our students of vocational training our desire of participating in an Erasmus + project.

With the granting of ECHE we propose to achieve the following objectives:

To encourage our students to do their internship abroad, in companies in the EU which will allow them to face a different educational program that will improve their linguistic competence and professional skills, and promote technical and cultural relationships between different cultures and countries.

The mobility training students will encourage the creation of better qualified professional people in the future because the students will have the chance to better understand the needs of other labor markets in Europe and acquire the skills needed to adapt to new contexts and improve understanding of the economic and social environments.

Encourage the exchange of expert knowledge between our school and the business sector and European institutions, in order to strengthen a European vision of our education system .We will show other countries the educational processes and our techniques while sharing common projects.

It is also our desire to establish alliances with international cooperation to promote innovation and entrepreneurship and create strategies and synergies with partner institutions and companies to promote cross cooperation.

We encourage our students’ motivation to perform vocational training. This challenge makes this educational stage become more attractive, modern and high quality while helping to regenerate the economy of the region and generate a positive impact on the environment.

How we choose our partners

eTwinning portal has been one of the main sources to find our European partners. Our school is currently participating in European programs such as Erasmus + KA2 (secondary levels); eTwinning (Primary); Project Home to Home (ESO, BAT) They gave us the opportunity to establish contacts with companies and educational centers of several European countries including Poland, Finland, the UK, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Austria, Germany and Lithuania. We maintain a close relationship with them. Our goal is to build partnerships with schools of higher education and business environments throughout these contacts.

At the same time we are also part of the educational network of vocational schools network that enhances the quality of vocational training and management and transition of students in vocational training in the workplace through agreements with companies.

We use the direct search companies abroad through Catalan or Spanish subsidiaries which allow a direct link between the school and these companies in order to perform the practices.

We use the relationship with the Chambers of Commerce, employers’ organizations and political representatives of the area that will allow us to find new “partners” between training institutions and companies adequate to the levels of education and our students’ profile.

In Geographical area(s)

The partner countries are mainly European which are within the geographical context in which we live and where we maintain closer links. We are interested primarily in English-speaking countries such as either English as a first or second language.

The most important objectives and target groups of your mobility activities.

As mentioned above, our center is currently carrying out a KA2 Erasmus + for our secondary students. We want our high training students to have the same chance as the others, because this will raise the student’s demands in our high school. It will also increase the center’s projection towards the demanding society.

With this application we intend to achieve the following goals for our improvement

With the mobility of students of Vocational Training we pretend to create a network of cooperation and partnerships between schools, business and international organizations, especially small and medium enterprises, local or regional, so we will contribute to the European Strategy 2020, where knowledge is one of the main goals to reach sustainable and inclusive development. Our Economic surroundings , according to the employment of our

geographical area, and social demand, requires highly skilled, competent, enterprising, innovative minds, being able to respond to the changing reality and an increasingly globalized world. For this reason our school EDN wants to extend participation in the Erasmus project as an opportunity to adapt the studies that we are giving to the needs of the labor market and society.

With the mobility of trainees, students will be able to live the experience of a company while staying in another country. With this experience, students will gain new communicative and professional skills, which will be very useful to discover the demands of the labor market in Europe and gain attitudes, and specific abilities to improve the economic and social environment.

Vocational Training teachers: They will have to increase their knowledge and skills to adapt content and methods to the new context and needs required by different geographical and labor contexts.

Organization: our center will consolidate an organizational structure able to plan, coordinate, monitor and supervise the various strategies and actions to ensure project success. It will also be necessary to create a web platform with all the strategic policy, objectives, methodology, monitoring results and all documents related to the Erasmus + project ( www.edn.cat)
